Playing catch up and a bunch of FIRSTS

I should warn you now....this post is a TON of pictures. You have been warned in case you want to skip this post. :) I have tried my hardest to capture most of Garners "firsts" (guess I'm that mom) so I want to be sure and include these on the blog.

Mommy and mimi ready for your very first baby shower. You were showered with so much LOVE!! I tell people all the time I feel so blessed because we literally received everything we asked for off our registry except for some minor things that I just put on but didn't HAVE to have.

Pics from shower 2. My girlfriends threw Aaron and I a couples baby shower.

Your very first grin we saw and captured. Aunt Jamie shot this picture for us. Such a sweet face.

First sponge bath....this was the same day you came home from the hospital. I wanted a fresh clean baby to snuggle with so we cleaned you up and you screamed. I know it was cold.

My favorite part of the bath was sweet Ellie. She was so concerned about you. She watched the entire time. She is always concerned....especially when we leave the house. She gets so upset and when we come home you are the first thing she checks on.

This is classic! Daddys first poopy diaper! NO he did not finish. He stepped back and said "this is all you" guess he has some learning to do. hehe

Your first outside walk at 3 days old. Mommy was ready for fresh air! We didn't make it far but you enjoyed it...slept!

Your first bottle. Sorry baby nursing just didn't work of us but you LOVE your bottle. You were a happy girl once your tummy was full.

Our first successful cooked dinner for daddy. I had to figure out a way to keep you close and entertained.

Your first lunch date! We met Aunt Heather, Uncle Nick and Haven for lunch and then we headed to the farmers market for pumpkins. Haven loves you so much.

Your sweet birth announcement. (front and back)

Your first big laugh for me!! I love that face. When you grin and laugh your entire face lights up.

First time in the tub. You love bath time. We have since removed the sling and you sit in the tub kicking and splashing.

Our first hayride to pick out your very own pumpkin from a pumpkin patch.

Daddy was sure to pick you the BEST pumpkin he could find.

Your first trip to church. You did great. Slept and ate but I was a proud mommy. Not ready to send you to the nursery yet so you stayed with us.

Your first Presidential election. you were excited to go and vote.

First visit to the salon! I know this will be on of your favorite places growing up as it was and still is mine. Mimi is sure to spoil you rotten and keep you dolled up.

First Halloween! We went to Uncle Kyle and Susans. You slept but we still took you trick or treating with all the kiddos.

First time in your crib. Oh it lasted 20 mins but it was a good little nap and test to see if mommy could stand you in your room. You have not slept in it again but now that you are 2 months old I'm getting closer  to the transition.

First art project with mommy and Aunt Lin!! We had fun and you were so good considering we had your feet covered in paint.

First Thanksgiving. We spent it first with GiGi and Daddy Daddy's family for lunch. We had an early dinner at Mimi and Pops. You had a busy but fun day.

Your first Dr visit for shots. (2 months old) You were so happy before the shots so I was sad to see you pricked. To my surprise you did well. You screamed as they stuck you but afterwards I scooped you up with lots of love and you were good to go. We even went to lunch with Daddy.

First time to hold your bottle all by yourself. :) Little Miss Independent.

I look forward to many more firsts in your life. You are growing so quick and I hope to capture all the special moments. We love you baby doll!

A nursery fit for a Princess

The nursery is by far my favorite room in the house. Only problem is we do not spend much time in this room . Garner is still sleeping in our room and honestly may co-sleep until she is 18 (Im only kidding). As soon as we found out we were having a little girl I started to put her room together. I ordered furniture, bedding, and my favorite - her monogram. Daddy worked hard moving what was our guest room out, painting and getting it ready for our princess. I have to brag that Aaron was wonderful. Not once did he complain as he painted, hung pictures evenly, removed plastic off each crystal hanging off the chandelier and even hung her curtains with care.

I always wanted an iron bed so my mom was sure to buy Garner the most perfect iron bed. I love it even if she doesn't sleep in it yet. We will get there.

I love giraffes so its only fair that Garner does too. ha!

As for the frames hanging above her dresser they are filled with pictures now. I took these as soon as we finished putting everything together. I needed newborn pics to fill the frames. These are not cork boards but picture frames. Oh and in case you are wondering they are from Poppy Tree frames.

Santa baby

I sure hope you love Christmas as much as I do. For a split second I thought I would not decorate this year. I figured I wouldn't have time with you being so little but you proved me wrong. I may have even done more this year than years past. Christmas will be so much fun this year. Mimi and I took you shopping (your favorite) and guess who we ran in to?!?!? SANTA! He was such a sweet man. This was not planned but since you did have on a red and green bow I thought "hey why not get a picture". No worries I told him what you wanted. ha!
You love to shop with the girls! Mimi does not know how to say no and wants to buy you everything. Im afraid she will stop shopping with us because she may go broke buying for you. We love you Mimi....Thanks for all you do.

I am so excited it is December. I go back to work in a month and plan to enjoy everyday we have until then.

Baby G TWO MONTHS

Time sure does fly when you are having fun. You are 2 months old! Still as sweet as can be. You sleep well during the night. You sleep all night and if you do wake up it is once between 4am-6am. I give you a bottle and you go right back to sleep. You had your first set of shots this month. You cried as she stuck you but then you were okay. Mommy did take you to Babies R us though and bought you a toy. Wrist rattles!! Dr K says you are not only healthy but beautiful and we need to buy daddy a shotgun for Christmas.

Weight - 11lbs 9oz
Length - 23 1/4
Head - 40cm

You grin all the time and when you do your entire face grins....eyes too. You talk non stop (baby talk of course). I get tickled because when I'm talking on the phone you start talking to me and sometimes I can not hear my own conversation.

You still love to be on the move. I took you on your first walk outside of your car seat. You loved looking at all the trees and houses.

Morning time is for you and daddy. You scream and laugh. He really gets you excited.

You started taking 4-5 oz of milk. Im still working on stretching you 3 hrs but you still think 2 is good. Lately you have been wanting to hold your own bottle....little miss independent.

We have also been working on strengthening our core. Your neck muscles are getting stronger and stronger. We have realized you really enjoy watching football. We have yet to figure that out but I think its all the movement. Who knows. You will lay and watch it but if we change it you get mad! Silly girl!
Happy 2 months baby girl!!

Dedication

Sept 17th we dedicated baby Garner. At our church we refer to this as "Family Dedication" since the baby really doesn't do the dedicating. Aaron and I along with our family dedicated Garner to the lord. It was a beautiful day!

The gown Garner wore actually belonged to Aarons grandfather. Below is a picture of Aarons sister and mother...This was Mrs. Susans daddies gown. So special!
Aaron with all the women in his life! He is such a trooper to put up with us. ha

This was such a happy day for us all. Looks like Garner enjoyed herself as well.
